My piece “Pressed” references new materialism and ownership of resources, taking the fishing industry as its subject and placing it within a feminine/ domestic context, presenting a narrative of exploitation and spoilage. The gallery is in the Vijverhof in Den Dolder, which has a history as a space for post-war psychiatric treatment, and currently is a place which provides refuge for vulnerable people.
